Energy balls with oats, nuts and honey without cooking
INGREDIENTS
1 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup of almond butter
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
2/3 cups of chopped pecans very finely
1/4 cup pecans cut into pieces
1/3 cup of liquid honey
2 teaspoons of vanilla
1/2 cup mini-pieces of semi-sweet chocolate
PREPARATION
1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
2. With lightly oiled or sprayed non-stick vegetable spray (Pam type), shape the preparation into balls, about 1 tbsp. to tab (15 ml) at a time. (You can prepare the bites in advance and put them in an airtight container, separating each floor from a sheet of waxed paper and will keep for up to 1 week in the refrigerator.)
Health Tip
For a healthier version, chocolate chips can be replaced with flax seeds, sesame seeds or cooked quinoa.
